Yakima GrandTour Rooftop Cargo Box - 16 Cubic Ft - Gloss Black
I went back and forth between the Yakima GT and the Thule Motion Xt for my 2012 Tahoe. After many of the excelent instalation videos I went with the Yakima. What sold it for me was the Yakima lock down system using only one master handel to tighten the 4 roof clamps. this keeps the floor "flat" which makes for better packing. With the Thule lock down system there 4 large round handled lock downs that create an uneven floor space with the "handles" sticking up.This Yakima GT box is super nice I would highly recomend this box great quality. The great customer service provided by Paula S. insured me that my box would packaged correctly and arrive undamaged. Paula also able to expidite the shipping for me as well. My box arrived in 1 week in perfect condition!!. Many thanks to Paula S. and the team at e-Trailer. Great experience.
Wanted to post since there are so few reviews out there (guess it's a newer product)...superb build quality and ease of installation. Chose this model because of the excellent interior surface area thanks to the removable knob. Use the knob to cinch the crossbar attachments, listen for the click, then remove and store inside the box for when it's time to take it off again. Because the knob is removable, the attachment points inside the box are flush (no bumps or obstructions), giving you more storage options. Very pleased with it so far.

Thule Motion XT Alpine Rooftop Cargo Box - 16 cu ft - Black Glossy
Great customer service and great product. Thank you !
This roof box is very sleek in design and I love how low it sits. Everything is wonderful with it; it can fit all my camping gear despite being a slimmer model. I gave it four stars because one of the powerclick clamps that it came with fell apart only after 3 uses and now i’m going to have to drop another $70+ for a replacement. Other than that, I would recommend this item.

22-1/2x49 Curt Cargo Carrier - 2" Hitches - Aluminum - 500 lbs
Very sturdy yet as light weight as possible. Fit to receiver could be a tighter, has quite a bit of movement when unloaded. Will see how it rides with a load on it.
Cargo carrier works as I needed. It is close to vehicle which can make it tight to insert receiver pin ... but that was expected. Preferred the carrier close to keep cargo weight closer to vehicle rear.

24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - Tilting - Folding - 500 lbs
Super disappointed in this etrailer purchase. The product came in a large box that was fully intact and not damaged. The actual cargo basket was meticulously wrapped and appeared to be brand new as expected. The other components however, like the arm, were in boxes that were smashed, old, worn, and had multiple layers of old tape. The arm itself was scratched and banged up, even rusty in spots. Clearly it was used or had been a returned item. If I wanted a dented, gouged, and rusty Cargo Carrier I would have purchased one used, for half the price. This is not the quality I expect from etrailer.. I have purchased many racks and other items from this company and usually the quality is outstanding. This time they dropped the ball. I have since read other reviews and it is apparent that this is not an isolated incident. I'd have sent it back if it wasn't so damn heavy and awkward to lug around.
I bought this to haul stuff from the east coast of the US to Alaska. I didn't go direct - over 5000 miles with this. On some not so good roads along the way. It was rock solid. The tub with my stuff in it weighed 130lbs.

17x50 Swagman Expanse Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 400 lbs
Sexy, I put it in the receiver on top of my headache rack. It sticks out over the bed of my truck
Well built, used to carry a couple sets of golf clubs from PA to FLA and back. Suggestion: In order to reduce the road grime hitting whatever is in the basket, I cut out a couple pieces of aluminum and bolted them to the front of the basket, painted them black and voila... food for thought

Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier for 2" Hitches - With Ramp - 77" Long - 500 lbs
I can't say I'm entirely happy with my purchase. The instructions were more confusing than helpful. Note in "instruction.jpg" photo of STEP 1 that the text says to put the 8 small bolts in from the inside first, but the drawing clearly shows them as going in from the outside. The last step says to place the ramp onto the receiver as shown.... glad I didn't throw away the box because there is no drawing that shows ramp installation. Actually, the photo on the box was more helpful than any of the instructions. Also, I need to make a trip to the hardware store to buy longer medium bolts because the ones that came with the carrier were not long enough to fully engage the self locking feature of the nylon lock nuts. At a minimum a couple of threads should protrude beyond the nylon. See photo "nut.jpg". The bolt threads don't reach the end of the nylon, so the self locking feature is not fully engaged. I did tighten the nut, but that was as far as it would go. I think once I get back from the hardware store with the new medium bolts and after I reverse the 8 small bolts (I followed the drawing and not the text of the instructions), I'll be OK with the carrier.
"Instantly Get Rid of Wobble and Upgrade With Lights" This is not a 5 because ramp should be longer & there should be some type stabilizer to temporary hold bike while strapping down, I'd pay more for those upgrades. The wobble can instantly be solved by hooking Tie-Straps closest to vehicle directly to the receiver where you hook your chains, rather than hooking them to the provided holes on carrier itself. You of course use the provided strap holes ones on the opposite side. When strapped down as stated, the carrier now becomes one with the vehicle & @ 80mph there is no wobble. (*TIP: Put ramp back in its place before strapping down or else it won't fit with the strap hooks in the way.) I upgraded mine with lights for both safety reasons & not needing the Police any reason to pull me over. It was very simple and cost me nothing but time & maybe $50. I recommend this product whole heartedly.

GearSpace 34 Enclosed Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitch - Slide Out - 34 cu ft - 300 lbs - Light Gray
A little too early for review, since I just received it. As far as first impressions go..... item arrived well packed. Upon opening it, I noticed that there is a blemish on the side, looks like maybe it was pushed hard in that spot, or something hit it. It's not really big deal, doesn't take away from being able to use it, it's more cosmetic than anything else. The second issue was a bit more serious. One of the long screws on the locking mechanism fell out of its end. It was not screwed in, or permanently welded but glued in. Glue was all dried out and didn't hold anything. We managed to hammer it in, for now, and we will check if it's going to hold up. Box looks nice, roomy and it's easy to put together and install on the car. I'll be able to say more about it once we use it this weekend.
Very pleased with product and the assistance provided for delivery - when the carrier called to arrange delivery their agent said that I'd be responsible for getting the 300# pallet off the truck so I let etrailer.com customer service rep know this was unacceptable and to my reliefthe delivery came on a lift gate truck with pallet jack. The package was in great shape and easy to get mounted to my Transit 350HD.

17x46 Curt Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
I've been using this Cargo Carrier on my 4 Runner Venture for about a year now. I Purchased this item to haul extra gear to Nags Head from Northwestern Virginia. Installation was a breeze and it's very, very sturdy. I had two Yeti coolers packed with ice and drinks and there was no wobbling at all. I'm a 197 pounds and I was standing on it after I installed it just to check for durability and this thing is a beast. I also used this as a rod holder while on the beach and I caught a 6 foot black tip shark. Overall, I'm very pleased with this item and I would recommend to a friend.
This is a substantial, well-made product at exactly the size I needed - smaller than many, and with sides that keep items secure. It was very easy to assemble, with all parts included and clearly sorted, and with all pieces manufactured to cleanly align. The item arrived promptly, packed to protect the shipment but without waste. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a high-quality cargo carrier.

20x48 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - Folding - 500 lbs
This is a sturdy carrier. Welds all seem good. Paint is just fine. Steel tubing is very strong. The weight is heavy but reasonable for one person to install and remove. I plan to remove it when not in use on our trip to avoid having to fold it up and lose ability to access the hatch on our van. It has a bit of play in both the receiver and on the folding hinge. I’m going to use construction shims taped in place to reduce the wiggle but even without those, it’s not bad. Even with a jumbo cooler, we can still see the plate. This will do the trick for vacation and camping gear without having to haul a massive 60” carrier. Love the size and build.
The cargo basket was installed in 20-minutes on my 1999 Chevy Tracker. It is a two person job one person to hold the basket and one person to line up the holes in the basket, it was easy. it took more time to cut up the cardboard packaging. The cargo basket, when folded in the upright position has a one inch clearance from the external spare tire. Two bungee cords are necessary to prevent the cargo unit from wobbling when folded in the upright position.. Lenny G.

19x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Aluminum - Folding - 500 lbs
Purchased this 1 year ago. Worked awesome for a 9.000 mile cross country trip with three off road adventures at geology tour road Joshua tree, west side road Death Valley, and kingman wash lake mead. No rattle, always secure, great clearance. Would purchase again.
Excellent cargo toter. Used on 2 vacations last summer, Iowa to Tennessee and Iowa to Florida. Carried 72 quarts and 52 quarts coolers loaded with food and other assorted cargo. Used existing holes provided for ratchet straps, no problems. 5 adult passengers in our ‘17 F150, bed full of cargo and the toter loaded with food, carried the load well. Excellent trips!

GearDeck 17 Enclosed Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Slide Out - 17 cu ft - 420 lbs - Black
Perfect sized box for carry sized luggage and softball game day gear. Proven space saver. Receiver is showing signs of rust otherwise would be a ten. Would buy again.
the cargo carrier is good with the exception of the sides not closing / sealing very good. Although I followed the assembly instructions, it seems to develop gaps and leaves in weather and dust / dirt.

Malone Cargo12 Rooftop Cargo Box - 12 cu ft - High Gloss Gray
I received the item in the description. Before I purchased the product I watched over and over the video on the site to see if the dimensions and looks of the product would fit my vehicle. After receiving it today I mounted it on my cross bars that I had and it fits like a glove. I noticed that the straps on the video are red and a bit larger but I received skinny black stripes not sure why the change. I like the color and it is spacious enough to accommodate what I will use it for. Good built and it sits well on the bars, it wasn't difficult to set it up, I like the way the brackets tighten up to the cross bars. My conclusion is: it is a well constructed cargo box and it is very big for the size to fit many vehicles. The price is also very competitive than many other brands. I was going to wait until after I could use it and then write a review, well I received an e-mail to help testify to it and for now this is what I have to write about it. I will further write more after a few months of use it will make more sense.
I purchased the Malone Cargo12 roof box for a 6 week trip to Arizona with our two dogs. I chose this carrier because it was large enough to hold all our clothes and items for our extended trip - and it would look nice on my white Forester. It was just what we needed and it worked out great! Looking forward to using it again.

Trunx Rooftop Cargo Box - 18 cu ft - Black
Save your money and do not buy this product, it's poorly manufactured to say the least. 1), the plastic gauge is way to thin making the final product to flimsy. 2) while the order information asked me for make, model and year of vehicle it did not match factory rail specifications. The factory roof rack system for Honda CRV is not adjustable and the 22 inch spread identified for product does not work for Honda installed roof rack systems. 3) lastly, the hinge design on this unit is poorly designed and will not align without modifications to bend the tabs so that they properly align with the slots. Once again, do not waste your money on this product.
The roof top box is definitely big enough for my all my family's gear, planning a road trip out West that includes some camping along the way. The plastic was a bit flimsier than I had expected and I was NOT impressed with the PLASTIC clamps around the side. I'm not too worried of the lid flying off if a clamp or two breaks - the front of the box locks and there is a pin in the rear hinge - however, I'm packing extra rope just in case. It also appears that the rivets holding the rails and lock to the container are also made of plastic. I do a lot of camping, I'll likely update my review after putting it through a few runs.

24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
The rack is much bigger than my previous one. I was disappointed that it was made in China instead of the USA. It assembled very easily and the light kit works very well. The only draw back is I can no longer open my tailgate with the rack installed due to the spare tire hitting the raised rack.
Easy to assemble. Karen was very helpful in the ordering process. Thank you

Thule Pulse Large Rooftop Cargo Box - 16 cu ft - Matte Black
Excellent roomy cargo box. My wife’s luggage even fit (see photo). Fit the top of my Forester like it was meant to be there and the hatch opens without obstruction. Great shipping by etrailer.com via Estes freight shipping (almost overkill on shipping).
This was purchased off of the etrailer.com website as a "damaged" item at a significantly reduced price. The description on the website described the damage very well and the cargo box has no functional issues of any kind. Also, the cargo box arrived much earlier than I anticipated. Furthermore, when I noticed that the box arrived with the load securing straps missing I emailed etrailer customer support and they had Thule send me two new ones right away. Couldn't be more pleased with etrailer and this cargo box. It fits my 2014 Honda CRV with factory crossbars with just a little bit of rear hatch interference (restricts opening by maybe an inch or two, but can still fully use the rear hatch). Can't speak to durability quite yet as I've only used the cargo box a few times to transport skis and snowboard and plan to use it year-round for road trips. A really great, simple cargo box!

Fits great on a 2022 MDX. Great to pair with the Thule ceiling mount. Easy enough for kid to lower!

Rola 21x55 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Chrysler 300
Today with 2012 Chrysler 300, we're doing a test fit of the Rola twenty one by fifty five cargo carrier. This is designed to work with inch and a quarter hitches and has a three hundred pound weight capacity. The part number is 59507. While we have it on our vehicle, let me take a few measurements here to start off. We're going to have a ground clearance of about thirteen and a quarter inches. Overall we're adding about twenty eight and a half inches to our vehicle, and our closest point is going to be about four and a half inches there. Now on our Chrysler we do have dual exhaust that come out on the passenger and driver side.
What our customers are saying:
"The hitch and the carrier came in much earlier than expected. The cargo carrier assembled in a few minutes. The hitch went on like a glove. I was very satisfied with it's quality. My salesperson was very helpful and made sure that I had the right things. Overall, I was very pleased."
